Kitchen Renovation in Camp Hill, PA.
JD Tile took on a kitchen tile renovation in Camp Hill, the existing floor tile was went underneath the cabinets which the customer was not replacing. JD Tile was the only contractor willing to remove the existing tile and cement board as all other contractors would only install tile over tile creating more height problem going into the existing rooms with hardwood. Being tile specific for 20 years in the business allows JD Tile to do things most are afraid of because the don’t have the experience. A new countertop was installed before the existing tile was removed so the new countertop had to be protected while demolition of the existing tile backsplash was demoed for new. Zip doors and zip poles are used during demolition to keep dust contained during the demo. Most constractors do not use this protection in the home causing dust to go everywhere in the home. JD Tile is intuned to keeping the dust down using the Metabo double hepa filter vac. 12X24 slate tiles were installed on a 50% offset as were the Heath Ceramics handmade tiles were on the backsplash. Ditra underlayment was installed over the subfloor vs the 1/2″ cement board removed to get the slate flush to the existing hardwood in the adjoining rooms. A custom tile-in register floor vent was installed. Self leveling compound was used to level the floor before the ditra uncoupling membrane was put down. New cabinet toe kicks were crafted and installed by Breisch Renovations after tile was finished. He also installed all new door casing. JD Tile uses highly skilled contractors when other trades are needed.
