Shower Remodel in East Hanover PA
JD Tile recently completed a master bath shower remodel for the customer to give them their dream shower! The previous fiberglass enclosure had been leaking water down through the curb due to a hole drilled into the curb by glass frame door installer. Slowly the water got down through the subfloor rotting the plywood and getting into the garage below. JD Tile was referred by a friend of the customer who had a new shower installed by JD Tile. The make the shower larger a closet was taken out. A wall was built as well vs installing glass all the way across the front. These elements added approx. 12 sq. ft. to the new shower. The new wall housed a niche 18X30″ which was custom framed in to line up with the grout joints. With the new wall the exhaust fan outside the shower would now be blocked to the shower area so an opening was made in the top of the wall. The opening was made the same width of the niche. A smaller niche was installed about 12″ off the shower floor to be used as a shaving niche. Granite was used here as well for the base. Customer provided the tile. They still needed floor tile and some elements for framing various designs in the shower. They ended up getting some 1/2″ and 1″ brushed nickel rope liners and basketweave stone for the shower floor from Garden State Tile in Lancaster. Granite was used in the doorway as the curbtop and header as well as the niche base and opening header. With all the design elements in this shower JD Tile worked closely to create the customer’s dream shower! This is a strength of JD Tile, working closely with customer and communicating when any questions arrive. This installation was a challenge with all the elements and angles but as always JD Tile was up to the challenge to turn the vision of the customer into reality for them to start enjoying their “dream” shower!
