Recently JD Tile took on a tub to shower conversion downtown Lancaster. Many contractors would be afraid walking into this type of renovation, but not JD Tile. We take on what most are afraid of. The project presented many obstacles as the walls were plaster and when the tub was removed there it was an area that would have to be built up to flush to the existing wall. Large copper pipes came through the plumbing wall presenting a challenge to find an area to house a niche. A new half wall was built, Fusion granite was chosen from Natural Stoneworks of Lancaster for the new vanity top, seat, knee wall top and curbtop. The combination of granite and tile is a trademark of JD Tile. The shower is 100% waterproof. The original shower area was turned into a closet to house towels and bathroom supplies. Clear sink vessels were used for the vanity countertop. Frameless glass by H2 of Lancaster.
This past Summer JD Tile completed a bathroom renovation in a farmhouse on the outskirts of Annville, to include a new tile shower and double sink vanity remodel. The existing shower was a fiberglass unit in the corner coming out about 3 ft. JD Tile suggested changing the footprint of the shower to make it bigger, frame and install 2 half walls to leave light in and have a niche on the inside of each half wall for a clean look. Subway tile was the choice of tile, traditional style for a farmhouse. Joints were installed tight at 1/16″. Granite was used for the curb top, half wall tops, and the new countertop for the double bowl vanity to replace the single. All the granite was fabricated by Lesher Marble and Granite. Shower glass by H2 of Lancaster. Double bowl vanity complete with subway tile splash. Customer chose to keep the wood floor vs tile. As always JD Tile used the best materials available to give the customer a high quality tile installation 100% waterproof shower.
